HI! My name is Rhonda, I’m a fourth-year fine arts student at the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP). I work primarily in digital Illustration and graphite drawing, though I am currently putting my efforts toward the medium of video games. The majority of my work is centered around video games and tabletop role-playing games, While I have spent most of my time making art for games I have recently found joy in creating games through every step of the process from programming to art and to animation.
Like many only children, I spent my childhood playing and obsessing over video games, I was and still am a massive Zelda fan. I would spend countless hours of my childhood drawing the characters from these games and eventually creating my own characters to put into my imaginary version of these universes. As I grew older still playing games and creating my own characters I started making characters and art for my friends and the characters that they came up with. When I was fourteen and figuring out what I wanted to do with my skills and life I came upon the occupation of character designer and have spent the last six years of my life pursuing that goal. Through this interest in working in video games, I eventually tried my hand at game development, I never thought I would find so much enjoyment in all steps of the game-making process from planning to programming to the art, as someone who never had any interest in programming it was never something I thought I would be able to do let alone enjoy it.
While I am currently putting a lot of my energy toward making games I haven't let that stop me from creating concept art for Dungeons and Dragons games. I have always loved thinking up and visualizing the worlds I created in my own head so being able to take someone else's world and put it on paper for them is truly my passion. As a long-time Dungeons and Dragons player, there’s nothing better than seeing your character in their most awesome moments drawn out on paper or having a picture to help you see what you’re going up against especially when the Game Master has created their own horrific creature for you to contend with. Bringing new worlds, characters, and monsters to life is what I do best and what inspired me to create in the first place, and what still inspires me to create to this day.
